Irvine Spine and Sport – Acupuncture for the Treatment of Headaches by Brent King, L.Ac

Hi this is Brent King at Irvine Spine and Sport in Orange County California.

I’m an Acupuncturist and specialized in pain management.

Today, we’re going to talk briefly about headaches and how we may treat them at Acupuncture. When it comes to diagnosis in headache in Chinese Medicine, it’s not that important that we have a category like a migraine, tension headache or sinus headache because we want to pay attention to the location of the headache and treat the meridians accordingly. Behind me you can see diagram some other meridians that we use in Chinese medicine. When we treat those with Acupuncture, we can opened up the meridians and most cases we can alleviate the headache within just a few minutes even if you had a migraine for several days literally within 5-10 minutes. We can reduce that by 50% or in many cases eliminate it completely.

When you’re looking for treatment for headache, keep acupuncture in mind and I appreciate your stopping by to site to learn more about Acupuncture, Headaches and Chinese medicine.

Thank you and Have a great day!

Irvine Spine and Sport – Acupuncture Treatment for Sharp, Stabbing Pain by Brent King L.Ac

Hi this is Brent King – Acupuncturist here at Irvine Spine and Sport in Orange County California.

Today, we’re talking about pain and different types of pain.

Often times people come in with sharp stabbing pain. In Chinese Medicine, we consider that to be a blood stasis- the blood is not moving as it should.  We would use this Acupuncture and some cases herbal medicine to help invigorate the blood so that the pain is alleviated.

Behind me you see the chart with all the 12 meridians that we use in Acupuncture. We would use a prescription maybe 5 or 6 needles to help move and invigorate the blood to alleviate that pain. If the pain is more dull and marginalized then we consider that more of what we called “Chest Stagnation”.

In most cases probably not as severe as blood stasis sharp stabbing pain.  If you do have a blood stasis type of pain, you definitely want to address it. Come and see us would give you some acupuncture and we’ll alleviate those symptoms and make you a healthier person.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a great day. We’ll look forward seeing you soon!

Irvine Spine and Sport – How Does Pain-Relief Acupuncture Work for Neck Pain?

Hi my name is Brent King. I’m an Acupuncturist here at Irvine Spine and Sport.

I worked with pain management and i’m also a Diplomat of Chinese Herbal Medicine.

I’m here today to answer some questions regarding neck pain. For me, patients when their in pain they just want relief fast so they don’t care like where it comes from but they just want to be pain free. Acupuncture is really great because it can help you to get rid of your pain without using toxic drugs with side effects.

How it works?

We used stainless steel needles they’re very very tiny much smaller than what we are used too from western medicine. In fact, you could probably feel about 20 of hours acupuncture needles inside of a western hypordemic needle.

People are always concern – was gonna be painful?

Well, it’s really not than painful because needles are so tiny but once you come in and see them for yourself. Most of those fears regarding the needles will be relief.

How does acupuncture work?

Well, you have a series of 12 meridians in your body and their you can kind think of them as like your freeways. Living here in california where we all used the freeway, right? So, if there’s a car accident there’s an obstruction and in the body when you have pain, there’s an obstruction. What we do, is we go away from the side and we opened up the path way so that the body can flow and blocked that obstruction thats further down the road.

So you might say – Would you put needles right in the area of my pain. Like you put needles on my neck?

The answer is No.

We would put needles in your hands or in your ankles. When i say your hands – mostly in the wrist so yeah not fingertips of the palms so don’t worry about that it’s not gonna be that sensitive. Pretty much on the wrist and on the ankles we would use to work with the neck pain. Between 6-10 needles is okay with you and within just a matter of minutes you would see that your neck pain. On a scale of 1 of 10 and 10 is being very painful we can probably bring that down to 1 or 0 within just about 5 or 10 minutes.

Irvine Spine and Sport – Pain-Relief Acupuncture for Neck Pain with Brent King, L.Ac

Hi, my name is Brent King. I’m an Acupuncturist here at Irvine Spine and Sport in Irvine, California.

I work with pain management and I’m also a Diplomat of Nutritional Chinese Medicine. So I also work with herbs.

A lot of people have questions regarding Acupuncture. They’re not really familiar with how it works. “Is it gonna be painful?” and so forth. So, the first question we have today is regarding neck pain. A lot of people have neck pain and everybody knows it’s no fun to be in pain. So the advantage that we have with Acupuncture is we can reduce that neck pain without the use of harmful pharmaceuticals and the side effects of those pain killing drugs.

So how does Acupuncture work?

Well, in acupuncture we work namely with 12 meridians and those meridians become blocked just like a freeway in California. When those meridians are blocked in your body it causes an impasse where things can’t flow the way they naturally would and that causes pain. So, the idea in Chinese Medicine is that you want to open up that freeway and clear it so the traffic can move freely. Instead of going right to the site of traffic or injury we actually use Acupuncture to pull the excess out of that area to kind of drain the area if you will. For neck pain, we might often use acupuncture points in the ankle or even in the wrist. With just half a dozen Acupuncture needles within 5-10 minutes we can reduce your neck pain down to 1 or 0 in most cases. That’s the basis of how acupuncture works.

Irvine Spine and Sport – Can Pain-Relief Acupuncture Help Neck Pain?

Hi i’m Brent King. Acupuncturist here at Irvine Spine and Sport in Orange County California.

I worked with pain management and i’m also an Herbalist as Diplomat of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Today, i’m here to answer some questions that patients might have regarding different conditions that their wondering if Acupuncture or Chinese Medicine will feel to help them. The first question that we have is neck pain. Neck pain effects tons of people in this country and with massage acupuncture chiropractic we can pretty much eliminate your neck pain. You come in, we will evaluate you, we will look to see where exactly is in that pain and we will use acupuncture needles maybe just between half a dozen somewhere along the body. Generally not in the neck itself but sometimes in the wrist or ankle till alleviate that pain in the neck. So, generally when your come in if your pain is like 10 out of 10 or very high. We can usually eliminate it down to 1 or 0 within just few minutes and we also in our facility we have massage and chiropractic which can assist in reducing your pain.
