Chiropractic Yelp Review: “I would like to give Dr. Erickson full credit…”

Brace yourself because you are about to read the world’s longest Yelp review:

I have been procrastinating this review for quite some time (2.5 years exactly) because I knew I would ramble and would struggle to condense my appreciation to a short paragraph. So I’m not going to condense, I’m going to ramble.

MY STORY…
As a dental hygienist, I am constantly putting myself in terrible ergonomic positions multiple times a day. I rely heavily on this practice to keep me from going into early retirement.

WHY THIS OFFICE IS GREAT….
I have seen all three doctors to some extent but have mostly worked with Dr. Erickson. I know each doctor has his own strengths and I love that they often utilize each other’s expertise to complete a patients adjustment. Dr Erickson has had me switch to Dr. Parker so that he could do a particular adjustment that he’s really good at. They are known to do this from time to time. (No ego here… Just a united team working together to give their patients the best treatment)

WHY I GAVE BIRTH IN UNDER 3 HOURS…
I would like to give Dr. Erickson full credit for helping me keep sane during my second pregnancy. I started seeing him because of tailbone pain that my previous chiropractor could never sort out. I had pretty moderate pubic symphysis dysfunction which basically caused me to waddle as early as my 4th month of pregnancy. Turning over in my sleep caused terrible pain and I was getting stuck in the middle of the night, requiring me to kick my husband awake to help me shift (that was fun). After a few visits with Dr. Erickson, I noticed major improvements in my movement and walk. I continued to see him throughout my pregnancy up until the last week before delivery. My body was in such great alignment that I no longer had pain when walking. Dr. Erickson explained that because of the hormone Relaxin, a woman’s body is very responsive to chiropractic care. I know my consistent care is what helped me push that baby out in less than three hours!! My first child took 14 hours. Coincidence? I think not.

DR ERICKSON IS INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU OF CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Don’t ever expect him to say something like “I’m going to do this adjustment because your leg is an inch off”… Oh no, no no. It will be more like “your leg is probably an inch off because you tend to lean on your right side when sitting in your chair and when you lean to that side you are putting extra strain to your Psoas muscle causing you to overcompensate….” And off he goes into another dimension. To find the source of my every ache is his personal mission and he will never be satisfied with giving me an adjustment and sending me on my way. He will check and recheck to make sure I’m at a minimum 50-70% better than when I walked in.

HE SURPRISES ME EVERY TIME…
I will walk into his office for my regular maintenance visits and will casually mention a random pain in my knee, or elbow, or index finger, or a numb sensation in my left toe… Never imagining that he will be able to find the exact location where the issue is arising from. I once had some discomfort in my right wrist and after doing a couple of strength tests in my shoulder and arm he was able to determine that the wrist pain was entirely related to my shoulder and neck. Ummm, whaaaaa????#Magician/X-Ray vision/chiropracticscientist

NO RUN OF THE MILL ADJUSTMENTS HERE…
I like that all the chiropractors combine adjustments with active release techniques.  I’ve never had any other chiropractor do this. Interestingly, sometimes the muscle needs more work than the spine.

MASSAGE THERAPISTS WILL MAKE YOU FEEL AMAZING AND YET YOU WANT TO PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE AT THE SAME TIME.
I typically prefer deep tissue massages over any shee-shee spa place. I have had plenty of massages in my life and almost always need to request firmer pressure. NOT here! I am terrified of having either Chris, Wendy, or Daniel find a muscle knot. When they do, I just hold onto dear life and try to distract them with personal questions (I think they have finally figured me out). They all have a natural ability to find the source of tension and work it out. Either that, or they all have some major anger issues and need to get on the yoga train! Namaste.

VICTOR, VICTOR, VICTOR
Every medical office in the country needs a Victor. Don’t let his seductive telephone voice get you… He’s married and has like 13 kids! In all seriousness, he is one of the nicest, calmest, funniest front office managers I have ever met. His name needs to be on the window of the practice, because he truly is the backbone of this office (please note my awesome spine reference).

If you have read my review in its entirety, please stop. Don’t waste any more time. Just make the appointment already. You won’t be disappointed.
